The first Monash Forum for Research in Management Accounting (MONFORMA) was held at the Novotel in St Kilda 4-6 June. A colloquium for doctoral, research masters and honours students was attended by 22 participants from 12 universities. The symposium had 7 invited papers and was attended by over 80 delegates from 22 universities representing every State except WA, the ACT and New Zealand.
The keynote speaker was Professor Mike Shields from Michigan State University. MONFORMA provided the opportunity to market our strength in management accounting. Thanks to the academic organisers: David Smith, Ralph Kober and Axel Schulz and to the support provided by Adrian D’Souza and Meri Tsiros the event went very smoothly and was appreciated by all who attended.
