PhD Accounting and Finance Symposium

Are you on your way to a PhD in Accounting and Finance?
Next Stop - Prato, Italy

The 2nd PhD Accounting and Finance Symposium held by Monash University, the University of Leeds and the Amsterdam Business School builds on its tremendous success in 2008.  The Symposium, held over two days at the Monash Centre in Prato, Italy, is exclusively focused on mentoring doctoral students who have either successfully completed their probationary candidature or the student's research is advanced enough to constitute a concrete research proposal with some preliminary results.  Ideal participants are typically, but not exclusively, one year away from completing their theses in one of the following areas:

  • Accounting information and capital markets
  • Asset pricing
  • Alternative investments
  • Auditing
  • Banking and financial instruments
  • Behavioural accounting and finance research
  • Capital structure and dividend policy
  • Corporate governance
  • Funds management
  • Introduction if IFRS and global accounting
  • Market microstructure

The symposium provides an opportunity for PhD students to present their research to an international audience outside their University environment and gain valuable feedback on their work.
