Banita Bissoondoyal-Bheenick

BSc (Hons) Accounting University of Mauritius, MSc (Finance), PhD RMIT

Banita joined the department in February 2008. Prior to this, she was a lecturer at RMIT University in the school of Economics and Finance. Banita hold a Bachelor of Accounting with Honours from the University of Mauritius and a Master of Finance and Doctor of Philosophy on credit and sovereign ratings from RMIT University. She has published papers in Emerging markets review, Global finance Journal, Applied Financial Economics, Quantitative finance and Risk Letters.

Research:

Banita's research interest is mainly in stock markets analysis, mostly related to impacts of changing credit ratings, determinants of credit ratings , analysis the volatility - return relationship, downside risk and I focus mostly in Quantitative finance type of research .
