Peter Carey
PhD UNSW, BEc, MBA, GradDipAppSc(Social Statistics) Chartered Accountant, Registered Company Auditor.
Peter joined the Department in May 1990. His research interests focuses on assurance services where he has published research in a range of leading international academic journals including, The Accounting Review, Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory, The Journal of Accounting Auditing and Finance and The British Accounting Review. Peter teaches auditing and assurance services, financial accounting and corporate governance. Peter has worked as a chartered accountant in the firm Price Waterhouse, KPMG and BGL & Associates.
| Research: |
Audit and assurance services including the economics of auditing, behavioural research in auditing, and mechanisms of quality control in audit. Corporate governance with a focus on internal control and fraud. In the finance area his interests include IPO underpricing, long run performance and market cycles.
