Michael De Martinis

Michael is a senior lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Finance. Michael joined the department in 2006. Prior to this he was at Victoria University for over ten years, and has also taught at the University of Melbourne. Most of Michael’s teaching has been in auditing, but he has also taught in other accounting disciplines including, financial and corporate accounting, and accounting theory. Michael is an active researcher in the auditing area, with particular interest in examining determinants of auditor effort (i.e., planned and actual audit hours). Michael also has an interest in public sector auditing, with publications on the accountability and independence of public sector auditors.
