Professor Imad Moosa

Professor Imad Moosa joined the Department in 2006 as Chair in Finance. Prior to joining the Department, he was a Professor of Finance at La Trobe University and a Lecturer in Economics and Finance at the University of Sheffield. Prior to becoming an academic in 1991, Imad was employed as a professional economist and a financial journalist for over ten years. Imad's previous employment was as an economist at the Financial Institutions Division of the Bureau of Statistics and the International Monetary Fund (Washington DC). Imad has formal training in model building, exchange rate forecasting and risk management at the Claremont Economics Institute (USA), Wharton Econometrics (USA) and the Center for Monetary and Financial Studies (Switzerland).

Professor Moosa has published nine books and over 150 papers in international journals. He has also written for the prestigious Euromoney magazine and has served in a number of advisory positions, including his role as an economic advisor to the U.S. Treasury.
