Shrimal Perera

BSc (Hons) USJ, MPhil Glasgow, PhD Monash, SA Fin

Shrimal joined the department as a full time staff member in 2006 and is currently a lecturer in Banking and Finance.

Shrimal has won several research awards and scholarships including the coveted Gerry Mueller Award for the best MPhil thesis from the University of Glasgow; Award for the best paper presentation at the 10th Annual Doctoral Research Conference, Graduate School of Business, Monash University; ANU College of Asia and the Pacific scholarship; Monash International Postgraduate Research Scholarship; Monash Graduate Scholarship; Department for International Development (DFID-UK) and University of Glasgow Shared Scholarship, and the Professor R. A. A. Perera Memorial Gold Medal from University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka.

Research Interest Bank competition and contestability modeling, interest spread analysis, parametric and nonparametric efficiency computation techniques, value at risk analysis and South Asian financial systems.
