Professor Brett Inder is Head of the Department of Econometrics and Business Statistics, Faculty of Business and Economics at Monash University, a position he has held for three years.
Professor Inder studied at Monash University for his PhD then he taught for some time at Melbourne University, before returning to Monash as a lecturer. At Monash he teaches a range of subjects in econometrics, including first year and honours level.
Professor Inder is also Chair of the Faculty Equity and Diversity Committee and the University Workplace Equity Committee.
Research
Professor Inder's research interests include strategies for finding long run equilibrium relationships and exploring the dynamic behaviour of economies. His current research includes studies into labour markets and rural-urban migration in South Africa, as well as the effect of the 2004 Asian tsunami on children in Sri Lanka.
