Sue has worked for a number of years in both education and research roles with the Victorian Department of Education and as a Senior Research Fellow at Victoria University, Australia. Her research encompasses a broad range of research areas including, accounting, marketing, strategic management, program and event evaluation, innovation and business growth. Her key responsibilities involve project management and industry liaison.

Over the past decade Sue has worked on more than 30 industry and government commissioned projects. The grants received have been funded by a number of leading industry organisations and key government agencies. Examples of these organisations are Tourism Victoria; Sustainable Tourism Co-operative Research Centre; Commonwealth Department of Education, Employment, Workplace Relations (DEEWR); Commonwealth Department of Industry Tourism and Resources (DITR); AusIndustry; Country Racing Victoria, Parks Victoria, Vision Australia and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).
