Robert Brooks is Professor in the Department of Econometrics and Business Statistics and Associate Dean, Research and Quality in the Faculty of Business and Economics, Monash University. Robert returned to Monash in February 2005 and was Deputy Head of the Department of Econometrics and Business Statistics from May to December 2005. For the 13 years previously Robert worked at RMIT University where he held positions including Dean (Research and Innovation) and acted as Pro-Vice Chancellor (Business).
Research
Professor Brooks has received a number of ARC Discovery and Linkage grants, and has also received industry research funding - for research on encouraging savings and improving financial literacy amongst lower income households.
Professor Brooks has authored or co-authored in excess of 100 articles in refereed journals, including publications in the Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Futures Markets and Journal of International Money and Finance. His research interests include financial econometrics and asset pricing, with a particular emphasis on the modelling of time varying volatility and risk in financial markets. He has also conducted research on initial public offerings in Australia to understand the capital raising by new firms.
Professor Brooks is on the editorial board of the Accounting Research Journal, Accounting and Finance and the International Journal of Knowledge, Culture and Change Management. |
