Equity and Diversity Committee
Terms of Reference
1. To advise the Faculty, via the Faculty Board, on all relevant matters arising from the University's equity and diversity policies, strategies and programs designed to provide equal opportunity in employment, in particular policy, objectives and programs concerning equity, access and diversity matters which affect staff within the Faculty.
2. To advise the Faculty Board on all academic matters arising from the University's equity and diversity policies, strategies and programs designed to provide equal opportunity in education, in particular policy, objectives and programs concerning all equity, access and diversity matters which may affect students within the Faculty.
3. To make recommendations to the Faculty Board on a range of pedagogical issues to ensure the curriculum reflects the University's international, cultural and ethnic diversity.
4. To develop and monitor the implementation of University and Faculty strategies and policy to assist the Faculty in meeting equity, access and diversity objectives in education and employment.
5. To develop effective communication strategies to promote understanding of the principles of equity, access, and diversity throughout the Faculty.
6. To prepare the Faculty Equity and Diversity Initiatives and Progress Annual Report to the Equal Opportunity Committee on behalf of the Faculty.
