The Faculty of Business and Economics recommends that all students equip themselves with a portable electronic calculator. Faculty of Business and Economics units may have a calculator restriction with the permitted calculator(s) for examinations being restricted to non programmable calculators.
All non-programmable calculators will be approved as long as they comply with proposed supporting procedures.
It is recommended that students undertaking studies in banking and finance purchase a financial calculator. Students are advised to familiarise themselves with any calculator restrictions applying in units they are studying.
Recommended unit outline and examination paper wording:
For units where no calculator restrictions apply - ticking the calculator permitted checkbox means that a student can bring any calculator into the examination (including programmable).
For units wishing to restrict calculator usage to non-programmable and non graphic calculators in accordance with the recommended policy: Unit Outline The only type of calculator that will be permitted in examinations and tests in this unit will be non programmable and non graphic scientific and financial calculators. A calculator will only be permitted in an examination if the calculator is identified with an 'approved for use' Faculty label.
Examination Paper The only calculators permitted in the examination are calculators with an 'approved for use' Faculty label.
