The Faculty of Business and Economics complies with the University's Course Structure Policy and applies the following additional provisions.
1. Accelerated Study
Applications for accelerated study for students who have not achieved a credit average in the previous academic year are subject to the permission of the relevant Course Director or nominee, who may at his or her discretion vary the requirement, taking into account the student’s individual circumstances.
2. Graduate/Postgraduate Course Structure
Undergraduate units may not be included in a graduate or postgraduate degree.
For Graduate/Postgraduate Course Structure purposes, 4000 level units are classified as postgraduate level and can be offered as part of a postgraduate degree.
Where a graduate or postgraduate degree requires previous knowledge within a specified discipline, the course structure can contain 4000 and 5000 level units.
Where a graduate or postgraduate degree does not require previous knowledge within a specified discipline, the course structure can contain 5000 and 9000 level units.
Honours programs can include a maximum of two 3000 level units.
3. Undergraduate Course Structure
3.1 Majors
A Faculty major must consist of a sequence of a minimum of eight units. The sequence must satisfy the requirements of the University Course Structure Policy as to credit points and levels.
Compulsory core units may or may not be included in the major, depending on the major.
A student may double (triple) count any two units in any second (and subsequent) major.
