Innovations in Teaching grants

The Innovations in teaching fund designed to provide teaching staff with additional financial resources to try new approaches in their teaching activities. The focus of funding applications should be on projects aimed at development of teaching practice and student opportunities.Anticipated student outcomes will be an important consideration during the shortlisting process.

Examples of the kinds of projects the funding might cover include:

  • Providing students with real life experiences to illustrate topics by funding field trip costs
  • Purchase of licenses to allow student access to online teaching materials, such as interactive business simulations
  • Employment of a research assistant to enable the production of new teaching materials such as case studies
  • Attendance at a teaching practice seminar, training course or conference
  • Hosting an expert from another institution
  • Funding a teacher exchange with another teaching institution
