Staff Induction Program 2010

A Program for New Sessional Teaching Staff

New sessional staff to Monash face a number of challenges, including actively engaging students in learning; and dealing with difficult situations in the classroom. Also, our culturally diverse student body raises issues of cultural sensitivity and classroom management that may be new territory to some staff.

The Staff Induction Program for new sessional staff provides an introduction to teaching and learning in the Faculty. All new sessional staff from Victorian campuses are required to attend this program.  Other academic staff and any sessional staff who missed out on attending this program previously are also welcome to attend.  REGISTRATION IS ESSENTIAL.

The program covers:

  • Introduction to teaching and learning in the Faculty
  • Teaching and learning policies and procedures
  • Approaches to teaching and facilitating student learning
  • Finding help for your students
