Prior to joining Monash, Anthony worked as a Lecturer in the Law Faculties at the University of Melbourne and the Australian National University.
He has also worked extensively in legal practice, including several commercial firms and the Transport Workers Union.
Anthony continues to work as a Consultant in the Melbourne Workplace Relations Group of the national legal firm, Corrs Chambers Westgarth.
Research
Anthony's research interests cover all aspects of employment and workplace law, with a particular focus on collective bargaining, dispute resolution, trade unions and other forms of employee representation.
Comparative labour law is another major focus of Anthony's research. He is currently undertaking comparative research on the Australian, US, Canadian, UK and NZ systems of collective/good faith bargaining; various international models of workplace dispute resolution/prevention; and the prospects for Australian adoption of European-style workplace cooperation/partnership.
In recent years, Anthony has carried out contract research projects for the Australian Institute of Employment Rights, the Victorian Government (Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development), and the Business Council of Australia.
Teaching
Anthony teaches in both the undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including the following subjects: Workplace Negotiations, Labour Relations Law, Workplace Law and Corporations Law.
Anthony supervises higher degrees by research including the PhD and welcomes inquiries from those interested in candidature in his fields of expertise.
