Abe Herzberg

Formerly a partner in a suburban law firm, Abe is a member of the Victorian Bar. Abe teaches in the area of company law, business law, finance law and corporate governance. He has published numerous articles particularly in relation to directors' duties and corporate insolvency law. He is the co-author of a leading corporate law textbook, Understanding Company Law, the 11th edition of which was published in 2003.

Abe also has an interest in the integration of internet resources into teaching corporate law and developed an innovative corporate law website, http://www.lipton-herzberg.com.au. This website received the 2001 Australian Award for Excellence in Education Publishing - Tertiary Website Category.

He is a course director of the Company Secretarial Practice & Meetings course conducted by Chartered Secretaries Australia.

Research

Abe's principal research interests deal with corporate law, particularly corporate insolvency law.
