Associate Professor Brendan Sweeney

Before joining the Department, Brendan was a solicitor in private practice.

Brendan is the co-author of Law in Commerce, with Jennifer O'Reilly published by Butterworths at the beginning of 2001.

Brendan is the co-author of a book with Bruce Clarke of Swinburne University entitled Marketing and the Law, which was published by Butterworths in 1997 and is now in its second edition.

Teaching

He has lectured in the areas of commercial law and contract, company law, competition law, consumer law, insurance law and international trade law both at undergraduate and graduate level.

Research

His current research interests include the role of innovation in the law of market regulation and the effect of the Trade Practices Act on advertising.
