Dr Gerald Acquaah-Gaisie

Gerald’s teaching areas include business law, corporate crime, information technology law and human rights law.

After migrating to Australia in 1984, he studied at the University of Melbourne, being admitted to practice as a barrister and solicitor in 1996. He completed a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education in 2001, and is accredited by the Staff and Educational Association (SEDA) as a Teacher in Higher Education. He was admitted to the Ghana Bar in 2002.

In 1997, he joined the Department of Business Law and Taxation as an assistant lecturer.

Gerald’s research interests include criminology, especially corporate crime, human rights law, business law, indigenous issues, third world social and economic development issues, and information law.

Gerald’s community work includes the Australia-Southern Africa Business Council, the Police Community Consultative Committee at Gippsland, and acting as a consultant for the Ghana Correctional Services.
