The 2007 Financial Services Regulation conference, organised by the Financial Services Research Group of the TLPRI, was held in Sydney on 13 July, 2007.

It built on the 2006 seminar held at the same time last year.

Pictured at the opening are Associate Professor Paul Latimer, welcoming delegates on behalf of Monash University's Department of Business Law and Taxation, and, to his left, Richard Batten (FSR partner, Minter Ellison Lawyers) and Darren Williams (Director of Financial Services Compliance at ASIC).

Research funding provided by ASX and Prestige Wealth Planning supported the conference, with further support in kind from the Financial Planning Association of Australia, the Securities and Derivatives Industry Association, and publishers CCH Australia Ltd and Emerald Publishing (UK).

The conference convenor, Associate Professor Latimer, is developing a signficant financial services research project that builds upon the success of the two conferences.  Financial support for the project is being sought through the Australian Research Council's Discovery funding program and further private sector sources.
