Corporate environmental accountabilityBLT participants: Wayne Gumley, Michael McNamara, Alice de Jonge OutlineWayne Gumley and Michael McNamara are undertaking research covering areas such as corporate environmental responsibility, environmental crime, eco-tourism and the use of tax concessions to promote environmental objectives. They are currently exploring options for a research project to evaluate the effect of the corporate "shaming" rule introduced into the Environment Protection Act in 2000; the adequacy of environmental prosecutions; and the need for a Land and Environment Court in Australia. Current and proposed activities2006 Wayne Gumley has been awarded a Faculty grant of $7,000 to investigate sustainability in teaching within the Faculty of Business and Economics. The project will be carried out over 2006 and will involve a "stakeholder engagement" exercise with academics across the Faculty and industry liaison with the aim of developing a Faculty Plan.
