Research at the ACRS is dedicated to the development, production and dissemination of the latest retail knowledge to ACRS members and the general retail industry.

The ACRS offers research services to retailers and participants in the retail industry and is engaged in three focused activities:

  • Research is undertaken for clients on a commercial basis
  • Projects are tailored to meet specific objectives
  • A variety of methods is used, including in-depth interviews, focus groups, observations, surveys and secondary data harvesting
  • Commercial Research Clients have included: Shell Asia Pacific, International Car Distribution Programme Australia, Brotherhood of St Laurence, Toyota and Google.

3. Primary Proprietary Research

  • ACRS values the importance of conducting leading edge primary scholastic research
  • Primary proprietary research is regularly conducted to develop new contributions into the field of retail knowledge
  • On line surveys are conducted to gain a quick temperature check of topical retail issues
  • Shopfloor to Boardroom, a study into retail careers, is the major primary research project currently being conducted
