The World Retail Congress is an annual event bringing together global leaders in the retail industry. The 2012 Congress featured a program comprising of incisive keynote sessions and in-depth roundtable discussions, and addressed critical issues pre-occupying retail boardroom agendas, such as emerging markets, technology and innovation, understanding customers and employees in a multi-channel world, and the evolving role of the physical store environment. One of the main themes of this year's Congress was Omni-channel retailing, as shoppers are becoming increasingly comfortable interacting with retailers across multiple channels, creating pressure for retailer's to offer seamless integration across these multiple touchpoints.
