Dr Silva Zavarsek

Profile: Silva joined the Centre for Health Economics as a Research Fellow in March 2006. She has a background in basic research in molecular biology. Silva holds a BSc (Hons) degree from Monash University and completed her PhD at Monash University in the area of mammary gland biology. She has previously worked in the areas of evidence based medicine, systematic review and health technology assessment at the Monash Institute of Health Services Research (Monash Medical Centre, Melbourne). Her main task within CHE is to evaluate the clinical effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of pharmaceuticals submitted to the Pharmaceutical Advisory Benefits Committee (PBAC) for the purpose of listing on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme.
