Postgraduate Programs at CaulfieldEconometrics & Business Statistics offer the following postgraduate programs at the Caulfield campus: The Master of Applied Econometrics program is available on campus to both local and international students. The Graduate Diploma in Applied Econometrics is available to local students only, but international students enrolled in the Masters program can elect to exit with the Graduate Diploma. These programs attract course fees. Australian citizens or holders of Australian permanent humanitarian visas wishing to undertake the Masters or Graduate Diploma may be eligible to apply for assistance with fees under the Australian Government’s FEE-HELP Scheme. MASTER OF APPLIED ECONOMETRICS(Three semesters full-time or six semesters part-time)The Master of Applied Econometrics by coursework and minor thesis is a unique and academically challenging program. It offers a breadth of knowledge and provides the quantitative skills and expertise to be involved in business analysis, forecasting, financial market analysis, risk analysis and quantitative market research. Students acquire specialised skills to undertake applied econometric research projects and the ability to communicate the results to wider audiences. These skills are extremely attractive to business and can be used across the broad range of business disciplines whether you are in the field of market research, quality improvement, credit risk management or international business for example. For those interested in further study the Master of Applied Econometrics also provides a clear pathway to articulate into higher-degree by research programs. GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN APPLIED ECONOMETRICS(Two semesters full-time or part-time equivalent)The Graduate Diploma in Applied Econometrics provides an opportunity for graduate students from any discipline to enhance their quantitative skills and be equipped to undertake other rigorous postgraduate coursework programs in business. It offers a wide breadth of knowledge and will provide the quantitative tools and expertise required to carry out regression analysis, forecasting and financial market analysis. Students will also acquire the ability to take responsibility for designing and implementing applied econometric projects and be able to proficiently communicate the results to wider audiences. Such skills are extremely attractive to the business and finance community. Admission Requirements: Applicants require a pass degree (which includes at least one unit in statistics) from a recognised tertiary institution. If no statistical component was completed at tertiary level, at least two years experience in statistical analysis is required. Students who successfully complete the Graduate Diploma in Econometrics with an average grade of credit or above may apply for admission to a range of Masters programs offered by the Faculty.
