2007

Professor Catherine Mann of Brandeis University will be visiting the Centre during 27-28 September 2007. During her stay, she will be presenting a seminar as part of the Development Workshop organised by Monash University.

Professor Guocheng Xiang of Hunan University of Science and Technology stayed with the Centre from November 2005 to March 2007. Professor Xiang is the Deputy Dean of Business School , Hunan University of Science and Technology , China .

2006

Professor Jin Fan, Yueping Sun and Mingjin Gu visited the Centre during 29 September to 28 November, 2006. Professor Jin Fan and others are from the Research Centre for Jiangsu Applied Economics of Jiangsu Administration Institute.

Professor George Mailath of Yale University visited the Department of Economics during 20-22 September, 2006. During his stay with Monash, Professor Mailath delivered a seminar "Extreme Adverse Selection, competitive Pricing, and Marekt Breakdown" on 21 September, 2006. Professor Mailath's visit was organized by CIREO.

Professor Victor Bulmer-Thomas of the Chatham House Royal Institute of International Affairs visited the Centre on 21 August, 2006. During his visit, Professor Bulmer-Thomas presented a seminar entitled "The Future of Europe" at Monash.

Dr Chih-Ning Chu of Chun Yuan Christian University came to visit the Centre during 10 July to 10 August, 2006 . During his stay, he worked with Dr Guang-Zhen Sun to conduct research related to Sun's ongoing ARC discovery project "Valuing time and age in the knowledge economy", particularly on the computer simulation of specialization patterns at equilibrium in a knowledge economy.

Mr Richard Alexander Roehrl of Transport and Tourism Division, United Nations ESCAP, visited the Centre during 15-19 May, 2006. Mr Roehrl gave a seminar presentation entitled "Asian Infrastructure Development: Economics and Public Policy Issues" during his visit.

Professor James Mirrlees of the University of Cambridge, 1996 Nobel Laureate in Economics, visited the Centre and delivered a special seminar organized by Professor Yew-Kwang Ng and Dr Guang-Zhen Sun, sponsored by the Department of Economics and the Centre of Policy Studies on 27 April, 2006 at Monash University .

2005

Dr Catherine Mann of Institute for International Economics gave seminars at Monash on "Macroeconomic Adjustment and Technological Change: The International Context for Economic Policy in Asia" (28 February, 2005) and "Global Sourcing and Factor Markets: The Information Technology Example" (1 March, 2005). Dr Mann's visit was co-sponsored by CIREO, CoPS and the Institute for the Study of Global Movements.

2004

Professor Hugo Sonnenschein of University of Chicago visited the Centre and conducted a seminar "The Linking of Collective Decisions and Efficiency" on 12 March, 2004 .

Professor Ji-Ren Li and Dr Chi-Ning Chu from National Taiwan Univerisity and Chun-Yuan Christian University, visited the Centre to hold a workshop "Inframarginal Approach to Managerial Economics" on 2-4 February, 2004.

2003

Professor Eric Maskin and Professor Avner Ben-Ner of Princeton University and The University of Minnesota were the keynote speakers at the Monash Workshop "Inframarginal Approach to Managerial Economics" held on 24-28 February, 2003. The event was organised by the CIREO.
