James Ang joined the department after completing his PhD from the Australian National University in 2007. He is Research Associate of Centre for Applied Macroeconomic Analysis (CAMA) at the ANU and Member of Development Research Unit (DRU) and Asian Business and Economic Research Unit (ABERU) at Monash University. His main areas of research interest are growth and development, with a focus on the roles of R&D and financial liberalization. His teaching interests include macroeconomics and international economics. He has recently received the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Research by an Early Career Researcher and an ARC-DP grant to study macroeconomic volatility and financial openness.
