Michael Ward joined the department in 2012, following previous faculty appointments at ANU and UC Berkeley. He holds a joint appointment with the Monash Sustainability Institute. Michael's research focuses on issues in environmental and resource economics, such as water management, pollution regulation & enforcement, land use, and biodiversity conservation. His research has been published widely in field-leading journals, and one work recently received a quality-of-research award for the field. Recent grants include an ARC Discovery Project on adaptive urban water management.
