Hee-Seung joined Monash University as a lecturer in September 2011 after completing his Ph.D. in Economics at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). His research explores policy-relevant questions in Public Finance and Labour Economics. In particular, he is interested in identifying and quantifying the distortionary effects of various social insurance programs, such as government pension and health insurance. Before his Ph.D. study, he worked as an economist at LG Economic Research Institute, where he had extensively written on the topics of labour supply, Social Security reform and ageing society.
