ChinaThe Faculty’s China strategy is based on the need for an informed and focussed approach to engaging China and an analysis of the changing international education and research. The Faculty wishes to have strong relationships with a small number of prestigious Chinese universities covering research and teaching activities. Monash University has a comprehensive university-wide agreement with Sichuan University in Chengdu covering education and research. Within this agreement there are already joint research seminars and education initiatives, including an articulation agreement under development. In December 2008, the Faculty signed a student and staff exchange agreement with Peking University, by most measures the top ranked university in China. Research CollaborationThe Faculty has established several international research alliances and collaborative agreements with universities and organisations in China. The Faculty aims to develop relationships that further both the University's and its partner institutions' research capabilities.
