2008 Key Semester Dates

2008 Semester One

9 February Fees for Semester One due. Students who have not received their `Enrolment details and fee statement' should contact their faculty to check their enrolment status. Last day to add Semester One or full-year Off-campus Learning units without risk of late enrolment fee.
11-13 February Registration Day for international students
18-22 February Orientation at all Australian campuses - dates and times will vary from campus to campus.
16 or 18 February Graduate Orientation Program
25 February Semester One teaching period begins
7 March Last day to add units (without late fee)
10 March Labour Day - Not a University Holiday - classes as per usual
21-25 March Easter - University closed.
21-28 March Mid semester break
30 March Last day to submit Intermission form.

31 March

Census date for teaching periods: semester one. Last day for discontinuation of any Semester One unit without "Discontinued" showing on academic record.

Last day for a 100% refund of unit Fee(s) and Amenities Fee.

21 April Semester One exam timetable published
25 April Anzac Day (University closed).
28 April Last day to discontinue any unit and for it to show as ‘Discontinued’ on academic record. Units discontinued after this date will show as a ‘Fail’.
28 May Semester two `Enrolment details and fee statement' published on the Web Enrolment System (WES).
30 May Teaching period ends
2-4 June Swot Vac period
5 - 27 June Exam Period - check your exam timetable, or visit the past exams database
9 June Queen's Birthday - Not a University Holiday
27 June Semester one exam period ends
27 June Last day to add Semester Two Off-campus Learning units without risk of late enrolment fee.
30 June Last day to submit application to graduate in Semester Two 2008
30 June Mid-year enrolments begin.
Registration for international students commences.
27 June - 11 July Mid year break

11 July Semester one results released.
14 July Semester two teaching period begins
25 July Last day to add units (without late fee)
1 August Coursework scholarship applications for 2009 open
11 August Last day for discontinuation of any Semester Two unit without "Discontinued" showing on academic record.
11-14 August Supplementary and special (deferred) examinations
30 August Last day to submit Intermission form.

31 August

Census date for semester two teaching period.
Last day to discontinue any unit for a 100% refund of unit Fee(s) and Amenities Fees for Semester Two.

8 September Semester two exam timetable published.
15 September Last day to discontinue any unit and for it to show as ‘Discontinued’ on academic record. Units discontinued after this date will show as a ‘Fail’.
17 September Semester two `Commonwealth assistance notice' forwarded to FEE-HELP students.
29 September - 3 October Mid semester break
1 October Last day for lodging disputed `Commonwealth assistance notices' for semester two.
13 October 2009 re-enrolment period begins - via WES. Closing dates to be advised in August 2008 via Monash email account.
17 October Teaching period ends

23 Oct – 14 Nov Exam Period - check your exam timetable, or visit the past exams database
Coursework scholarship applications for 2009 close.
3 November Summer semester begins
4 November Melbourne Cup Day - not a University holiday
28 November Publication of Semester 2 results
30 November Last day to submit application to graduate in Semester One 2009 - Graduation Ceremony Dates
mid December The re-enrolment period for the Faculty of Business and Economics closes.
23 December University closes until 2 January 2009
