One of the major focal points for the Graduate School of Business is personal and professional development. Increasingly our strengths in this area are being recognised outside the university, by employers and potential students among others.
In this issue I wanted to bring to your notice some important offerings in this area.
New units in personal development
In semester 2 we are offering a range of personal development units. Some of you will have already completed the GSB9003 Professional Advancement which is delivered in conjunction with our partner Metizo. For the first time we will also offer GSB9001 Critical thinking and communication and GSB9002 Managing self and relationships. Further details are available on WES where you can also enrol.
Successful mentoring program
Another exciting development is the GSB mentoring program which provides you with the opportunity to develop a three-month relationship with an experienced Monash Alumni. These individually matched one-on-one relationships are designed to assist your career path and direction. For more information on this life changing opportunity please look at the details on the GSB Mentoring Program.
Another GSB first: LinkMe
Another innovation is the GSB’s partnership with leading career networking site LinkMe , providing you with access through our GSB Career and Networking Portal. The portal connects you with thousands of employers and recruiters, as well as helping you leverage your personal, university and professional networks to achieve your career outcomes.
I look forward to your feedback on these and other GSB initiatives.
Best wishes
Julian Teicher
Director, Monash GSB
