Master of Business (Banking and Finance)

The 12-unit Master of Business (Banking and Finance) provides you with the conceptual and managerial decision-making skills necessary for effective management in the continuously changing domestic and international finance markets. It offers those who do not have a finance or business background the opportunity for a career-entry qualification into this discipline.

Entry requirements

A degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution with at least a credit average; or A postgraduate qualification with at least a credit average or an honours degree in a relevant discipline

Course structure 12 units

Six compulsory units:

  • AFF9130 Financial planning
  • AFF9150 Options, futures and risk management
  • AFF9250 Financial management theory
  • AFF9260 Australian capital markets
  • AFF9350 Portfolio management and theory
  • GSB9001 Personal development – critical thinking and communication
Elective units

Students must complete a further six graduate units offered by any department within the Faculty of Business and Economics.

Other links
Students who attain a credit average on completion of the Master of Business (Banking and Finance) may be eligible to articulate to the Master of Applied Finance.
