Research Strategy
Department of Management academic staff are innovative and engaged researchers who produce high quality and relevant research capable of having an impact and influence over key areas of business, management and organisational practice. Staff are encouraged to work collaboratively and increasingly research programs have been developed that are cross-disciplinary and which recognise the multi-faceted nature of management research issues and the problems and solutions that they seek to address. Our aim is:
- to create a culture that values, encourages and supports excellence in researchers and research outcomes
- to develop the research culture through an appropriate mix of short and long term initiatives
- to consistently reinforce the links among research, teaching and practice
- to attract and engage quality HDR students and ensure that they contribute to our research strengths.
Commitment to research
Research by scholars in the department is widely published in leading national and international journals including Academy of Management Review, British Journal of Industrial Relations, International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of Economic Issues, Journal of Management Studies and the Journal of International Business.
Research Centre
The department is home to the Australian Centre for Research in Employment and Work (ACREW) which is a Faculty research centre that promotes collaborative research in a diverse range of areas, including industrial and employee relations, human resource management and organisational behaviour. ACREW seeks to encourage projects with multiple outcomes including high-quality academic publications, successful research grants, and recommendations that have both practical relevance to industry and social value.
