The Roles of Personal Values and Organisational Context in Predicting Innovative BehaviourIndividual employee behaviours have long been recognised as affecting organisational performance. Among various behaviours which have been studied, innovative behaviour is one of the most important areas which many organisations desire. The values of creativity and self-direction are known to be predictors of innovation behaviour at the individual level, whereas a structure which is less formalised and centralized has been found to predict innovative behaviour at the organisational level. However, there is very little research which has examined these two factors simultaneously. In this study, a survey method will be used to examine the effect of personal values and organisational structure/culture, as well as their hypothesized interactive effect, in predicting innovative behaviours of employees in Australian private-sector organisations.
