Women, Training and Access to Promotional Opportunities in the VPS
Project Details:
The researchers have access to the VPS census data, which provides a unique opportunity to investigate the interaction between a number of factors associated with access to promotion opportunities. In particular the data allow for investigation of the role of career breaks, access to training, and use of workplace policies particularly family friendly policies (along with many other variables) in determining promotion rates for women. We also have a unique opportunity to examine a large range of factors in determining pay outcomes, including regional differences, segmentation, human capital variables, etc.
