Major research themes are:

  • Rating Public, Corporate and Civil Society Governance
    Development of a governance index through which corporate governance, public governance and their inter-relationships of the overall governance of countries can be assessed.  The research aims at publication of a handbook on governance as practiced in a wide range of spheres, economies and sectors
  • The Governance of Relief, Recovery, and Rebuilding
  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
    We manage a CSR network, which is a network of researchers at all levels, including academics and students at the PhD, research Masters and Honours level.  The network acts as an incubator for new CSR research projects and circulates and exchanges all CSR related information to keep researchers aware of the latest CSR events and research around the globe.
  • Role of the Media in Governance
    MGRU has initiated a research program, advised by a expert panel of external Honorary Research Fellows from media and related fields, on the role of the media in the formation of ideas and culture and their effects on the governance of society, particularly social and economic progress.

    Leaders in corporate, public and civil society governance present their views and discuss major issues in governance.
