Charmine Härtel (on OSP Semester 1, 2009)

Charmine Härtel is Professor of Organisational Behaviour and Development in the Faculty of Business and Economics at Monash University and a Fellow of the Australia and New Zealand Academy of Management. Dr. Härtel has 27 years of experience in the public and private sector and is recognized internationally as a leading expert in the areas of organisational and employee development. Her research and consulting identifies new practices and development initiatives that facilitate organizational performance and promote social and organizational justice, employee and community well being, positive cross-cultural relations and social inclusion. Her pioneering work on the characteristics of positive work environments has identified a number of the drivers of unhealthy and toxic work environments along with the leadership and human resource management practices, organizational policies and strategies to turn such situations around. Prof. Härtel’s work appears in books and over 70 refereed journal articles, including the Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, Leadership Quarterly, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Management, and Human Resource Management Review. She is recipient of numerous research grants and contracts including 9 grants from the Australian Research Council.

Tui McKeown
Senior Lecturer, BA(Hons) MA PhD

Dr Tui McKeown is a senior lecturer in the Department of Management within the Faculty of Business and Economics at Monash University. Her research agenda is aimed at an active examination of contemporary work, through developing an empirically grounded understanding of the nature, dimensions and relations of work. Tui is building a reputation through both domestic and international research collaborations in this area which marks a crossing point between organisational behaviour, sociology and HRM. A key philosophy informing this research is to explore and share ideas which promote debate about how work might be thought about in new ways to develop a broader understanding of what constitutes work and how work 'fits' with other social relations and activities. Current projects include an examination of independent contracting as a hidden workforce; the implications of an ageing workforce and; the development of positive workplace environments as the key to dynamic, enabling and sustainable workforce.

Sen Sendjaya
Senior Lecturer, BBA Seattle MBA PhD

Sen Sendjaya is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Management at Monash University. He is recognised internationally as a leading expert in the area of servant leadership, and has been invited to consult and speak on the subject in research seminars and corporate workshops in Australia and overseas (e.g., America, China, and Indonesia). Sen's refereed journal articles have appeared in such journals as Journal of Management Studies, International Journal of Human Resource Management, and European Journal of Information System. Currently he is undertaking research projects on destructive leadership, leadership and emotions, leadership ethics, positive organisational behaviour, and organisational commitment.

Research Interests:  Servant leadership; leadership ethics, management and workplace spirituality, culture, e-leadership, positive organisational behaviour.
