Dr Andrew O'Loughlin has held lecturing positions at Lincoln University in New Zealand, and in the UK at Cranfield University, University of Surrey, where he was the director of the MBA program, and Henley Management College. Andrew also has extensive experience in running postgraduate courses by electronic delivery for the MBA programs at the University of Liverpool and Henley Management College.
Prior to a career in academia, Andrew's previous employment includes working across Europe as PA to the Director of International Development GKN Plc, a consultant with Asiawide International Ltd based in Singapore and Malaysia, and serving as a Detective Inspector with the Royal Hong Kong Police.
He completed his PhD at Henley Management College researching problem solving in high-performing teams. He also holds a MSc in Technology and Innovation Management from the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU), University of Sussex and BA (Hons) in International Relations with Development Studies. Andrew’s current research interests are creativity, innovation, problem solving in teams and entrepreneurship/intrapreneurship.
Andrew has worked with IBM, Ford Europe, Continental Tires, Vodafone, Toyota, Bradford and Bingley Building Society, Barclays Bank Plc, the British Armed Forces, Westland Helicopters, Normalair-Garrett, Honeywell/AlliedSignal, GKN Plc, British Airways, as well as numerous small and medium sized enterprises.

This program is designed for those wishing to extend their knowledge of contemporary management theory and practice. It focuses on general business and human resource management principles and their application locally and globally. It aims to impart the knowledge and skills associated with understanding and applying management and business theory and practice to managing in today’s business organisations.
Career opportunities
The MBM degree provides generic management skills and students completing this degree should be able to work in management positions in private, public and non-profit organisations at home and abroad in both services and manufacturing sectors. Career opportunities are in management consultancy and management practitioner positions in such areas as business strategy, corporate planning, organisational development, and organisational and process design.
