Paul Kalfadellis

Paul Kalfadellis is a Lecturer and the Program Manager for the Master of International Business and Master of European and International Studies Department of Management at Monash University. Paul has had extensive experience in both academia and industry.  In 2007 he was awarded the Dean's Award for Teaching Excellence and his teaching strengths lie in the area of international business and cross-cultural management communication.  Within the Department of Management he has also had prior experience in the administration of other graduate programs.  Paul was awarded his PhD in 2009 and his thesis investigated the issue of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Australia.

His research focus is in the area of international business specifically investigating the issue of location and the repeat investment of established foreign multinational enterprises (MNEs) within Australia.  His research interests also lie in the areas of the political/economic history of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Australia and the area cross-cultural communication.  His work has been presented at numerous international conferences and has been published in a number of academic journals and book chapters.

With the advent of globalisation triggered by technological advancement, increasing competition and declining trade barriers, business worldwide has faced an unprecedented level of international challenges and opportunities. This is no more so than in Europe where the economic, social and political landscape has undergone major transformation in the last fifty years.  The Master of International Business and European and International Studies is a program that has been designed to equip students with an in-depth understanding of contemporary political, social, economic and business phenomena as they affect both Europe and the rest of the world.  The double Masters program also provides students with an understanding and the knowledge necessary to confront the challenges and exploit the opportunities in an increasingly volatile and dynamic global and European marketplace.  The Program offers a comprehensive range of international business and international studies qualifications that involve specialised skills and an innovative outlook from a multi-disciplinary context.

Career opportunities include; political analysis and strategy, political and economic policy advisers, strategy planning and analysis, strategic management, international business, export-import strategy within business and industries which have an international focus.
