I began my post graduate studies at Monash by undertaking the Executive Certificate in Management. I was admitted on the strength of my work experience as I had never undertaken an undergraduate degree - so I certainly didn't think I'd end up undertaking the Masters program! I was initially terrified of the prospect of studying at post grad level, but through the strong student-focus of the teaching staff, and the wide range of subjects available - all of which were highly relevant to my work and interests - fear was quickly replaced by excitement and inspiration. In fact, once I started I found I couldn't stop. Studying the theories relating to the myriad aspects of management and leadership has given me a 'toolbox' to take with me as I progress my career.

Over 20 years in the Royal Australian Navy has provided me with vast experience in management and leadership - however I quickly realised through the Master of Management program that without the exposure to the relevant theories and the ability to apply them, I would never realise my potential to identify and solve the more complex challenges that come my way. My studies at Monash have not only provided me with a valuable 'tool box' for my workplace, but have inspired me to further study. I can't speak highly enough of Monash's Master of Management program.
