Human Resource Management

My time in the Master of HRM program was extremely positive. I found the seminar setups were an effective way to learn the required information and also get the class interested and involved. The core subjects were a great base to build and expand on in my own workplace and to get ideas of ways I could improve and positively change my workplace. The support from the staff was amazing and the teachers really understood the issues HR professionals face.

The Masters of HRM opened many doors for me in terms of employment. At the beginning of my post graduate studies I got a job as an HR Administrator with Australian Style and as my HR knowledge and skills developed with the course, I was able to apply this to my work and develop in my role, soon being promoted to HR Officer.

In 2006 I decided to take a year off and moved to the UK. I found having Monash on my CV to be a huge help due to its positive overseas reputation for HR professionals. I worked in a contract role HR Officer for Cookson Group plc. It was not only an amazing opportunity and experience but also gave me exposure to international HRM and employment law.

On return to my studies in 2007, my overseas work experience helped me in my classes due to today's workplaces having such a strong international focus. I returned to my role as HR Officer with Australian Style while I completed my studies and in April 2008 I moved into the position of National HR Coordinator for Geyer, Interior Design.  I am now the HR Manager, Mecca and Kit Cosmetics.
