Trends in Online Marketing - Marketing Connections Breakfast SeminarRecent research I have done with the Monash Marketing Department has shown the growth of digital marketing with its diversity of applications such as blogs and wikis, twitters, mobile marketing and search engine marketing has resulted in much confusion over its role within integrated marketing communications. The growth in digital marketing communications has been attributed to characteristics such as interactivity, personalisation, engagement, speed, and ability to link to CRM, measurability, targeted reach and cost effectiveness. The ability to choose the most effective mix of digital (online) and offline marketing tools/media has become a critical issue for marketers. Further, our research showed measurement of digital marketing and implementation of digital marketing has given rise to new implementation challenges.
