The ANOVA test is used to compare the means for two or more groups.

Concept design: Dr Dave Stewart
Java Developer: Julie Bernal-Melo
The null hypothesis is Ho: The population means are equal for all data groups and the alternative hypothesis is Ha: At least two of the means are not equal.
This applet can perform the ANOVA test on either 3 or 4 groups. There are three panels in this applet:
- Data panel, which displays populations for sample data.
- ANOVA table
- F-distribution displaying the calculated F-value, the p-value and the critical value.
The calculated F-value and the critical value are compared to accept or reject the null hypothesis.
