Probability sampling techniquesThis statistical applet demonstrates five basic probability sampling techniques for a population of size 1000 that comprises two subpopulations separated by a river.
The probability sampling techniques illustrated are:
To explore a particular sampling technique, select the sample size, n (which can take the values 10, 20, 30 up to 100) and then select from the list of sampling techniques. The CENSUS button outputs the mean and standard deviation of the whole population.
