Marketing Internship ProgramBoth students and industry derive significant benefits from the Marketing Internship Program. Final year, final semester students in Business or Commerce can elect to undertake this program as part of their degree. How it worksStudents negotiate their own internship projects to the satisfaction of both parties, usually with organisations they would like to work for. Faced with some critical self evaluation of their talents and capabilities, students are delighted to take on challenging projects where they can prove what they are made of. The personal growth students go through is amazing – an outcome of their new experience with business in general and their host organisation in particular. Organisations of all sizes, of all descriptions, think the process is remarkable. From federal to local government, from large retailers to shopping centres, from specialist technology companies to major motor vehicle manufacturers, from banks to charities, the number of satisfied stakeholders involved in the program is quite extraordinary. I researched my areas of interest, identified my options in terms of a future career and developed skills in applying for jobs. Seeing how marketing is implemented in large organisations and how relationships within organisations work was a fascinating and memorable experience. The major benefits for me included exposure to a wide range of all aspects of contemporary marketing, and gaining experience in how theory can be applied in the workplace. I would recommend the program to any and every student, for growth and personal development. It also looks great on my resume, impressing potential employers." Stephen Tann, Bachelor of Business (Marketing and Management) "As a leading bank in the Asia Pacific region, ANZ is pleased to be associated with Monash University’s Faculty of Business and Economics and its Marketing Internship program. The value for ANZ is having a young creative mind look at different ways to connect to our diverse markets. Over the years that we have been participating in the Marketing Internship program, final year students from Monash’s Business and Commerce degrees have challenged our thinking and provided insight into our marketing approach. We are impressed by the calibre of students; we have made offers to the best of the best; and look forward to continued relationships with Monash University into the future." Louise Eyres |
