1. What is the Monash Marketing Awards for Excellence?

The Monash Marketing Awards for Excellence aims to recognise and reward high achieving students (undergraduate, postgraduate and past graduates) within the units and courses administered by the Department of Marketing at Monash University.

2. Where and when is the event?

This year the awards will be held at Atlantic, Shed 14 Central Pier, 191 Harbour Esplanade, Docklands, Tuesday, 9 December 2008, 6:15pm.

3. Is parking available on the night?

For Car Parking:
Telstra Dome offers Evening Parking (enter after 5pm and leave before 6am) for $8.00 on the night.

For Trams:
The nearest tram stop is 0.16km away and a two minute walk.  The 48 tram stops on Harbour Esplanade near Central Pier.
The free Red City Circle Tram also stops in front of Telstra Dome and is then a two minute walk.

For Trains:
The nearest train station is Southern Cross Station and then a 15 minute walk to Atlantic, Docklands.

4. What's included in the ticket price?

Patrons will have the opportunity to attend a prestigious event, where they will be served a three course dinner (including soft drinks, beer and wine), enjoy entertainment and have the opportunity to meet marketing professionals.

5. How can I be eligible to receive an award?

Award finalists are those students who place top 3 (based on marks) in a unit or course administered by the Monash Department of Marketing. The Monash Marketing Awards for Excellence is purely marks based. Students who have undertaken the unit (or completed their course) during the 2008 calendar year are in contention. Award finalists receive a complimentary ticket for the event.

6. What do award winners receive?

Awards winners receive a cash prize, a certificate and trophy to commemorate the event.

7. Do the awards cover all Monash campuses?

The Gippsland campus has its own awards program. However, students undertaking units at all other Australian campuses are included.

8. How can I purchase a ticket?

For all ticket inquiries, please contact the Monash Marketing Awards for Excellence committee. As mentioned, all award finalists receive a complimentary ticket for this event. To purchase ticket, please click on the 'Tickets' link in the 'Quick Links' box.

9. What is a Top 10 Letter? What is the Top 10 Evening?

The Top 10 Letter is distributed to high achieving students to inform them that their marks have placed them in the Top 10 of their Semester One Marketing unit for 2008. For the first time in the 37 year history of the Monash Marketing Awards for Excellence, the 2008 committee has organised an exclusive networking opportunity to congratulate these students and our sponsors. If you have received a Top 10 Letter, do not miss out on this valuable opportunity to network with our sponsors, learn about future career opportunities, and use your high achievement to be one step ahead in graduate recruitment.

10. What is the dress code for the awards?

“LOUNGE SUIT”

The dress code for this gala event is lounge suit, which is cocktail with a corporate influence. Therefore, it is appropriate for those attending immediately after work.

For example:
FOR MEN: A darker suit with a business shirt and tie (optional) are appropriate.
FOR WOMEN: suiting with a twist - this could be a dressy top, brooch or elegant accessories OR a shorter length dress/outfit as opposed to a formal floor length gown.
