Master of Marketing

About Me

My working life has been varied and interesting – from fashion and cosmetics retail through to media planning and buying at an advertising media agency, and my current dual roles as a Research Assistant for the Department of Marketing at Monash University and running my own business as a freelance makeup artist. In the future I hope to pursue a career in strategic marketing consulting, or combine my passion for cosmetics and marketing in a brand or marketing management role. One day, I may also consider launching my own brand…!

What the “Monash Marketing Awards for Excellence” awards means to me

The awards represented an incredibly rewarding completion to my Masters degree. The most satisfying element was the knowledge that they were earned as the result of many hours of hard work, research, reading and discussions – proving that determination and dedication can bring great success. Whilst academic awards were not the key objective in my pursuit of further studies, it is certainly an honour to be recognised in this manner.

What drives me

To be honest, I’ve never considered myself a traditionally ‘academic’ type. I think the description of being endlessly curious is more accurate. I feel passionate about many things – far too many to name. In all areas of life, whether personal, academic or professional, I truly believe that it should always be driven and underpinned by passion. If you are happy and love what you do, then that is the mark of real success.

Message to next generation Marketing students

Be curious, ask questions, look at concepts from many different perspectives, think local and global, read broadly, always inject some creativity, work hard and learn from everything!
