Hi, my name's Julian Cole, I did honours in 2007. I completed a thesis on Facebook psychology. I chose to do it on Facebook because at the time is was the real new thing and not many people understood what it was all about so I thought this would be a good opportunity to make myself a specialist in a field that's growing and I think that would be very valuable to employers.
I got an offer, offered a position to help start up an agency in Sydney who were concentrating on Social Media and it was just the perfect job because I'd really defined what area I wanted to go into.
I'd highly recommend the Honours year to anyone who doesn't really have an idea of what they want to and want to become more specialised in an area or anyone who finishes their degree earlier and still wants to be around Uni. I think it's a real benefit to yourself to do it and if you choose an interesting topic it can be a great year.
