Lisa Larsen-Henry Honours Transcript

I actually did honours because I wanted a better job coming out of undergraduate and I knew that I wanted to work in market research and that definitely meant that I needed more experience with actual data analysis, looking at things clinically and project management and honours was good for that.

I really enjoyed the classes because of what I was actually learning in terms of theory, or questioning things or actual data analysis using SPSS or even writing but then the actual research part of it was teaching me things like how to communicate with the different people the you need to speak to, to get things done, how to plan ahead, how to stick to deadlines, so the actual project management communications side of it and I think that it's made me a lot more confident going into my job now and it certainly helped getting the job.

I'm an analyst so I actually work very closely to the data and then our company is actually set up in a way that I actually get to use the sort of marketing theory behind it as well, so Honours was really good in setting that up and getting both aspects of it.

My goal was to work in market research and within five months of doing Honours I was offered a job so that was good.

I think it was probably a combination of what I was studying in Honours but also the people that you meet and the way that you communicate and the confidence you build up.

Honours was actually teaching me to think and even question some of the things you learned in undergraduate.
